The internet is a great source of communication. The key is that it is not just one sided information either. Becasue anyone can learn how to create a website, or in this case create animation you can access it. the only problem is that there is SOOO MUCH INFORMATION where do you start, what do you believe, etc. But once again, the internet is enables ANY AND ALL view points the chance to speak out....

once again showing that, the private/public space no longer applies on the internet....you can bitch, comment, instruct, lie, anything you want too on the internet.....

When i think of cybercultural music; obviously i think of daft Punk and other techno-ish groups; interestingly i did not think of radiohead, as meantioned in class....

the latest radiohead album, kid a, is even more cyber-esque in its hybrid music. My favourite song right now is Idioteque. its such a good mixutre of folkish melodyies while using synthisers (how ever you spell it) and other computer generated beats.

LCD soundsystem is also another good group that often make me feel robotic....in a good way....

i definatly think the convience and availablity of computers enhances musicians to use them. It is not jsut about creating a guitar sound or trumpet , its about how indivualistic and creative you truly can be.

I have a program called Fuity loops where i can create my own cyber-esque music....and have done that...i have made some songs for films and such....and its cheap!

Gamers

The mini clips of the video game previews really annoyed me. I found them extremely sexualized and not giving much information in way of the game it self...it was all about sex selling the product.

I really found that vixon show funny....i think that due to the way they trivialized themselves as game geeks (cracking jokes and making odd comments), put more emphasis on the fact that these games were not real. Through the way they made reference to masterbation over a game character, as an audience member i laughed at them and how sad they were.

the last video, i agree with the typecasting of women characters but as joanna said (i think it was her) more and more female characters are becoming diverse....

anyways i think the game market is realizing the potential to sell to women now as well.....hense all the women kicking men asses games......what better way to liberate someone then to give them a game where they can kill their oppressors....

i went to http://www.educause.edu/ and explored what they had to offer....i noticed that thanks to the internet....now NOONE has an excuse about not being able to get a post-secondary education. Even though the website does not offer actual classes, people who surf this site can find links to other eudcational sites be it univerisities such as brock, but other on-line degree oriented sites.....

status of my condition

well its official......im extremely sick......my roomates have started putting garlic on their doors as if to ward me off......my room is where kleenex goes to die......and i have been eating chicken broath for the last 5 days.....sick!
